International Attention on CCP's Organ Harvesting: Evidence Shows Systematic Human Rights Violations

In recent years, the international community has increasingly focused on organ harvesting practices within China. Multiple independent investigations and witness testimonies suggest that this practice is not limited to isolated cases but represents severe, systematic, and organized human rights violations. Reports indicate that Falun Gong practitioners, Uyghur Muslims, and other minority groups are the primary victims.

Multiple Testimonies Reveal the Dark Truth

Former Japanese gang member Sugawara Ushio’s testimony provides direct eyewitness evidence of this issue. In 2007, Sugawara accompanied a friend in need of a liver transplant to China. He witnessed a Falun Gong practitioner being forcibly subjected to organ harvesting at a hospital in Beijing. After the practitioner was anesthetized, doctors quickly removed his liver for transplantation. Sugawara stated that the process shocked him and later compelled him to expose the dark reality to the international community.

Moreover, Zheng Zhi, a former intern at a Chinese military hospital, also stepped forward to recount his involvement in an organ harvesting operation in 1994. Zheng described how doctors harvested organs from a young military officer without the use of anesthesia, revealing the psychological trauma he endured during the process. Fearing for his life, Zheng refrained from speaking out for many years but recently decided to reveal the truth.

The most shocking testimony comes from Cheng Peiming, known to be the first survivor to have experienced the terror of the CCP’s organ harvesting firsthand. Cheng Peiming, a Falun Gong practitioner, was detained by the authorities in China and subjected to extreme torture. Ultimately, parts of his lungs and liver were forcibly removed. After the surgery, Cheng woke up to find himself chained to a bed, with parts of his organs already missing.

Despite suffering unimaginable physical and psychological trauma, Cheng miraculously survived and successfully fled to the United States in 2020, where he obtained refugee status from the United Nations. In 2024, Cheng publicly recounted his experience for the first time, exposing the atrocities committed by the CCP and highlighting the significance of his testimony as the only known survivor of organ harvesting. His account is supported by Dr. Charles Lee, a leader within the Falun Gong movement, who stated that Cheng’s story provides valuable firsthand evidence of the CCP’s systematic persecution of Falun Gong practitioners.

International Response and Actions

In response to the growing body of evidence and testimonies, the international community has begun taking steps to curb this practice. On June 25, 2024, the U.S. House of Representatives unanimously passed the “Falun Gong Protection Act,” aimed at sanctioning CCP officials involved in organ harvesting and preventing the continuation of such practices. The sponsors of the bill stated that they had gathered substantial factual evidence, viewing this as an essential step in halting these human rights violations.

Furthermore, several international human rights organizations and NGOs are intensifying their efforts by publishing reports and organizing seminars to raise global awareness of this issue. These organizations emphasize that organ harvesting not only represents a grave violation of the fundamental human rights of the victims but also poses a significant ethical and moral challenge to the entire international community.

Calls for More International Participation

Although the international community has taken some measures, many experts believe that more countries and institutions need to unite to further investigate and expose this issue. There are widespread calls for the United Nations and other international organizations to intervene and conduct investigations, with the aim of holding those responsible accountable through international courts.

As more evidence continues to emerge, the global outcry and condemnation of this issue are growing louder. The pursuit of justice requires a collective international effort, and only through global cooperation can we effectively stop these practices and ensure that similar human rights violations do not occur in the future.
